Why do people chain their bikes to trees and leave them there for weeks on end? Do they really expect them to survive? Hull, similar to every city has no shortage of broken bikes chained to street signs, bike racks and any manner of semi-permanent structure. Each has its own flavour, its own character, and most definitely its own story. The project will involve a walk around the city centre area. I will identify and place/customize/decorate appropriate to contemporary bike culture i.e. tapes, vinyl, patches, paint etc., on abandoned/striped bicycles, bicycle locks or bicycle racks. I will document and map this project via photographs/drawing.
